Mangaluru, Jan 25: St Theresa’s School conducted its esteemed investiture ceremony on the school grounds with remarkable pride and reverence on January 25.

The event marked a significant milestone in the school’s legacy of fostering young leaders and was graced by the distinguished presence of Bharathi G, police inspector of Urwa Police Station, as the chief guest. She was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour, befitting her stature, and was accompanied by principal Sr Lourdes, vice-principal Sr Reena, PTA vice-president Collette Cabral, and the outgoing head boy Jake Fernandes and head girl Eshani Sanil.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn and meaningful prayer service, setting a tone of gratitude and purpose. A warm and eloquent welcome address by Sonal Lasrado captured the audience's attention and set the stage for the momentous proceedings.

The outgoing student council, led by Jake Fernandes and Eshani Sanil, took their final march as leaders with dignity, offering a respectful salute to the chief guest.

In a poignant and symbolic gesture, they formally relinquished their responsibilities, handing over their sashes and badges to principal Sr Lourdes, who, in turn, entrusted them to the newly elected council. The new student leaders included head boy Roger Rebimbus, head girl Aldreena Rodrigues, and secretary Lakshya G, along with other cabinet members. The ceremonial exchange of sashes and badges underscored the seamless transition of leadership, marking the dawn of a new chapter for the school’s young visionaries.

With an air of solemnity, the newly-elected council members took an oath of office, administered by principal Sr Lourdes, pledging to uphold the school’s values, integrity, and spirit. Proud parents, teachers, and guests bore witness to this landmark moment, sharing in the pride and aspirations of the young leaders.

To honour the outgoing leaders' dedication, certificates of appreciation were presented to all council members, along with special mementos to Jake Fernandes and Eshani Sanil for their exemplary contributions. The school also recognised the commendable service of RSP and NCC students, whose commitment has been an inspiration to their peers.

In her inspirational keynote address, Bharathi G congratulated the newly elected council and encouraged them to lead with vision, integrity, and responsibility. She emphasised the importance of cultivating leadership qualities, the value of teamwork, and the necessity of grounding oneself in education and reading. A poignant reminder of the influence of social media, she urged parents to guide their children wisely while encouraging students to honor the school’s rich legacy and strive to make meaningful contributions to society.

The event also featured heartfelt speeches by the outgoing leaders, Jake Fernandes and Eshani Sanil, who expressed their deep gratitude to the school for shaping their leadership journeys. Incoming head girl Aldreena Rodrigues shared her aspirations for fostering unity and collaboration, while incoming head boy Roger Rebimbus concluded the ceremony with a well-articulated vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who made the event a success.

A moment of immense pride followed with the announcement of the best house for the academic year 2024–2025. The green house emerged as the winner, with the blue house securing the runner-up position. This achievement added to the celebratory spirit of the day.

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the audience with a profound sense of pride, accomplishment, and optimism for the future. The event stood as a testament to St Theresa’s School’s commitment to nurturing dynamic and responsible leaders for a better tomorrow.
