Mangaluru: Threat emails received by 3 prominent schools in city; police ensure safety

Mangaluru, Jan 27: Three prominent private schools in Mangaluru received threatening emails on Monday, January 27, claiming the presence of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on their premises.

The schools, located in well-known areas under the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru city and rural police stations, were subjected to immediate anti-sabotage checks conducted by the city’s ASC Check team and Bomb Disposal Squad. Following thorough inspections, the police confirmed that no suspicious items were found at any of the schools.

To ensure the safety of students and staff, police personnel have been deployed at the institutions, and school authorities have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance.

Separate cases have been registered in connection with the threatening emails, and a detailed investigation is underway to trace their origin. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious movements or communications to the police without delay.
