Kundapur: Accused absconding for 25 years arrested

Kundapur, Jan 28: Mohammad Hanif, son of B Abdullah and a resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra, was arrested in Kasaragod on January 28 in connection with a counterfeit currency case after being on the run for 25 years.

The accused, who was out on bail, absconded without appearing before the court. Subsequently, the Honorable Court had issued an LPC warrant against him.

On January 28, PSI Nootan D of Kundapur rural police station, along with personnel head constables Raju and Ashok Shetty, successfully tracked and apprehended Mohammad Hanif in Kasargod, Kerala.

The accused was produced before the court for further legal proceedings.

    They all think they cant get caught at all. Most of the times these are petty cases. Instead of resolving it when they are young, they abscond only to get caught when they are grown old, and have a reputation of them and their family to save.
