Mumbai, Jan 7: The Bengali bombshell Bipasha Basu celebrates her 33rd birthday on Saturday January 7. Born to a Bengali Hindu family in New Delhi, Bips is the second daughter to Hirak Basu and Mamata Basu. She has two sisters Bidisha and Bijoyta.

Bipasha studied at Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidya Mandir. Even though she aspired to be a doctor, she ended up studying commerce at Bhawanipur Education Society college. Bips then did modeling as a part time job.

Once she won the Cinthol supermodel contest, she was given many offers. Bipasha debuted in ‘Ajnabee’ opposite Akshay Kumar in 2001. In 2002, she appeared in ‘Raaz’ and the film proved to be a turning point for Bipasha's career. In 2003, Bipasha starred in ‘Jism’ opposite John Abraham which was a commercial hit. With this, she gave many hits at the box office like 'Race', ‘No Entry’, ‘Corporate’ and ‘Dhoom 2’.

Her personal life was always under the limelight. Her six year old relationship with Dino Morea ended up in 2002 after which she established a relationship with John Abraham. After nine long years John and Bipasha called it quits in 2011. As of now, she is rumored to be dating her ‘Dum Maro Dum’ co-star Rana Daggubatti but things did not shape up.

At present, Bipasha has her hands full with movies like ‘Jodi Breakers’, ‘Singularity’, Raaz 3D’ and ‘Raaz 2’.
