Udupi, Jan 9: Mangalore-based Tulunada Rakshana Vedike has urged the state labour commissioner in Bangalore and deputy commissioner to award compensation for an employee, a resident of Koteshwar, who was fatally injured in a recent blast while working in the refrigeration workshop at Bangalore where he was employed.

The critically injured employee is 23-year-old Ashfaq, son of Abdul Rehman, residing in Koteshwar, Kundapur. He was injured in a blast that occurred while he was working at Cooling Technique Refrigerator and Air Condition Factory, No 288, A S Pallya nearby, BTM Lay Out, Bannergatta, Bangalore, on Monday December 19 at 6.30 pm.
