A week ago, his wife was admitted to a private hospital in Puttur due to nerve complications. Within two days, she was shifted to a hospital in Adyar, on the outskirts of Mangaluru, for further treatment. Initially, Mahalinga Naik personally managed to pay Rs 2.62 lac by borrowing funds. However, as additional financial assistance was required, an appeal for help was made through media reports.
