Udupi, Feb 15: Kasturba Hospital in Manipal marked International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) with a heartfelt celebration, uniting children battling cancer, their caregivers, and cancer survivors to raise awareness and show support for these brave individuals. The event held was part of a three-year campaign (2024-2026) under the theme, ‘Inspiring Action’.
The event featured an entertainment programme designed to uplift the spirits of children undergoing treatment and their families. Esteemed guests, including Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean of KMC Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent of Kasturba Hospital, Dr Suba Sooriya, head of nursing services of the hospital, along with Arjun Bhandarkar, founder of Save Life Charitable Trust and Amitha Pai, founder of One Good Step Foundation, graced the occasion.

Dr Vasudeva Bhat, head of Paediatric Oncology at Kasturba Hospital, along with his dedicated colleagues played a pivotal role in organizing the event.
