New Delhi, Feb 20: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has officially launched Round 2 of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), providing another opportunity for young individuals to gain professional experience. Following an overwhelming response in the first round, which received over six lakh applications, the second phase is now offering more than one lakh internship positions across 730+ districts in India.
The scheme is targeted at individuals aged 21 to 24 who are currently not enrolled in full-time academic programs or employment, giving them a unique platform to kick-start their careers. Each intern will receive a monthly stipend of ?5,000 along with a one-time financial assistance of ?6,000.

With participation from over 300 leading companies across industries such as Oil & Gas, Banking & Financial Services, Travel & Hospitality, Automotive, Manufacturing, FMCG, Metals & Mining, and more, the initiative aims to provide young professionals with real-world experience, networking opportunities, and enhanced employability.
Eligible applicants can explore internships based on their preferred district, state, sector, and field of interest, using a customizable filter to locate opportunities within a specific radius of their current address. Each candidate can apply for up to three internships before the application deadline.
To maximize outreach, over 70 Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) events are being organized across India in colleges, universities, ITIs, and Rozgar Melas, ensuring that students with relevant qualifications can connect with available opportunities. Additionally, a nationwide digital awareness campaign is being conducted through multiple platforms, including collaborations with influencers, to reach young aspirants.
Designed to harness the potential of India’s youth, the PM Internship Scheme provides 12-month paid internships, combining structured training with at least six months of hands-on experience in professional settings. The initiative aims to equip young Indians with industry-relevant skills and position them for future success in their respective fields.
