Nagpur, Feb 23: A tragic incident unfolded in Nagpur district as a farmer was mauled to death by a tiger near Kondhasavali village in Parsevni tehsil on Friday evening. The victim, Dashrath Dhote, was on his way to feed his cattle when the big cat, hiding in the bushes, pounced on him and dragged him nearly 50 feet by the neck.
Eyewitnesses said that Dhote’s son and villagers rushed to help after hearing his screams, but by the time they arrived, the tiger had inflicted fatal injuries. The villagers’ loud shouts eventually forced the tiger to retreat into the forest, but Dhote had already succumbed to his wounds.
Forest department officials have launched an investigation and are closely monitoring the rising tiger activity in the area. Authorities have urged locals to remain alert, as this marks the second fatal tiger attack in Nagpur this year. On January 12, a man named Sahdev Suryavanshi was similarly killed in Amgaon village.
The recurring attacks have sparked fear among villagers, with many calling for immediate measures to prevent further tragedies.
