Panaji, Feb 24: Preparations are in full swing for Goa’s much-awaited Carnival, set to begin on February 28 with the grand government-organized procession from Parvari.

The Carnival, known for its vibrant processions, music, and revelry, is being orchestrated by the Tourism Department, featuring chariots, art troupes, and performances by talented artists. The highlight of the event will be King Momo, who will officially declare the days of fun and celebration.

Carnival has played a significant role in boosting Goa’s tourism, attracting visitors from across India and the world. The festival beautifully blends Goa’s folk culture with modern influences, offering a colorful spectacle of tradition and creativity.

A group of enthusiastic youth from Mala, Panaji, is crafting a stunning Chitrarath (thematic float) that will depict both traditional and modern Goa. Designed with an eco-friendly approach, the float is made using paper pulp and recyclable materials, complemented by folk music, artistic scenes, and dazzling lighting.

With King Momo’s reign set to begin, Goa is ready to welcome the carnival with open arms, celebrating its rich heritage and joyous spirit.
