"We visited the hospital in Puttur where the incident occurred and questioned the doctors. We also gathered information from the hospital. Additionally, we visited another hospital where the gauze was removed after a scan detected it. The investigation will continue on Tuesday," district health officer Dr Timmayya told Udayavani.
On November 27 last year, Gagandeep’s wife Sharanya Lakshmi was admitted to a private hospital in Puttur for delivery. During the cesarean procedure, a piece of gauze was allegedly left inside her abdomen. She was discharged on December 2, but within a few days, she began experiencing abdominal pain. A scan later revealed the presence of the gauze, which was subsequently removed at another hospital, Gagandeep alleged.
