Udupi, Feb 26: The prize distribution ceremony of the seventh edition of the 'Godali Sadagara' 2024 Photo Contest, organised by Daijiworld Udupi and Kishoo Enterprises, was held on Wednesday, February 26 here. This edition saw an impressive number of participants in both the group and individual categories.
The competition was held as part of the Christmas celebrations and was sponsored by Tanishq Jewellery, Udupi; Aura Bakery, Udupi; and Madikulas Sweets, Brahmavar.
Fr Stevan Fernandes, director of ICYM Udupi Diocese, graced the event and said, "Every religion has its own festivals, and each festival holds significance, teaching valuable lessons. The Godali Sadagara competition brings people together to create beautiful cribs. In an era where everything is artificial and ready-made, this event encourages people to put in effort and creativity. I thank Daijiworld for organising such meaningful events."
Naveen Prakash Quadras, a participant, shared, "This is my second time receiving a prize in this competition. In 2019, I secured third place, and this time, I have once again won third place. Every year, I actively take part in this competition, as it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase creativity and tradition. I sincerely thank Daijiworld for organising such a meaningful event that brings the community together. This competition sends an important message to the youth, encouraging us to unite and build cribs using natural and eco-friendly materials, avoiding the use of artificial ones."
The event was attended by Fr Stevan Fernandes, director of ICYM Udupi Diocese; Leon Saldhana, associate business partner, Tanishq Jewellery Udupi; Kishore Gonsalves, managing director, Kishoo Enterprises; Kevin Rodrigues, manager, Daijiworld Udupi; and other staff members.

The respective prizes were Rs 8,000, Rs 6,000, and Rs 5,000 along with a trophy and a certificate.

Bishop's House, Kodialbail; Our Lady of Mercy Church, Mercy Ward, Manjeshwar; St. Antony Ward, Mother of God Church, Mogarnad; Our Lady of the Rosary Ward, Mother of God Church, Mogarnad; St. Sebastian Church, Gardady — each received Rs 1,000.
