Government First Grade College, Kavoor hosts workshop on ‘Job Interview Skills’

Mangaluru, Feb 27: In today’s educational system acquisition of soft skills along with knowledge is very essential. It is not enough if the students coming out of the college, are only qualified with educational degrees, but more importantly, they must also be competent by possessing requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and competencies needed to successfully face the challenges of corporate world.

In this context, the placement cell and IQAC of Government First Grade College have taken an initiative to organise a workshop on ‘Job Interview Skills’ for the benefit of the students. This workshop was organised as part of Prerana Mentorship programme of Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka.

Prof Louis Manoj Ambrose, associate professor, Dr P Dayananda Pai – P Satish Pai Government First Grade College, Carstreet, Mangaluru was the resource person. Prof Manoj took the students through a beautiful session wherein he explained the model to be followed before, during and after the interview. At the end, a few students received hands on training as he conducted a mock interview.

Principal Dr Geetha M L, presided over the programme. In her presidential, she advised the students to focus on preparing themselves to face the challenges of job market.

The IQAC coordinator Dr Therese Pereira, co-coordinator Jyothi Shetty and placement officer Dr Ashwin L Mendonca were present on the dais. Deepthi of III B Com welcomed the gathering, Sanjana of II BBA proposed a vote of thanks. Priya of III B Com compered the programme.

The programme ended with National Anthem.
