Brahmavar, Mar 1: A devastating fire broke out at the Solid and Liquid Resource Management (SLRM) unit in Brahmavar during the early hours of Friday, causing extensive damage.
The blaze erupted around 3 am, completely gutting the facility belonging to the Varamballi panchayat. The intensity of the fire led to the explosion of a waste collection vehicle, further aggravating the situation.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel, along with local residents, rushed to the spot and managed to contain the flames, preventing them from spreading to nearby areas. However, all machinery and equipment inside the unit were completely destroyed, resulting in a heavy loss.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire. An investigation is underway.
