Udupi, Mar 1: The first graduation ceremony of Moodlakatte College of Nursing was held on February 28. The event began with a procession welcoming all the graduating students and invited dignitaries, followed by a welcome dance and a prayer.

The dignitaries inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. The chief guest, Prof Tejaswini B H, principal of Ashraya Nursing College, Chikkamagaluru (also a member of RGUHS, UG, BOS), addressed the gathering. She emphasized the importance of setting both short-term and long-term goals for success rather than being distracted by rapidly advancing technology.

Guest of honour, Dr H Ashok, surgeon at Udupi District Hospital, highlighted the selfless care and dedication of nurses, urging them to become a guiding light for patients. Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, director of Brand Building at IMJ Institutions, stressed the significance of lifelong learning. College principal, Prof Jennifer Freda Menezes, extended her best wishes to the students.

The ‘Best Outgoing Student’ award was presented to Bismi M B, who expressed her gratitude towards the institution, principal, and faculty for providing excellent education. She also shared fond memories of her four-year academic journey. The dignitaries then conferred degrees upon the graduating students.

On this occasion, the first-year students at Moodlakatte Nursing College participated in the lamp lighting ceremony, marking their initiation into the nursing profession. Principal Prof Jennifer Freda Menezes, along with the chief guests, symbolically lit the lamp, signifying the core values of nursing -love, dedication, patience, service, and discipline.

Vice principal Roopashree K S, administered the oath, instilling a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students. Vice principal Roopashree K S welcomed and introduced the gathering. Rakshitha delivered the vote of thanks, Akshatha, lecturer, Sherell Sara and Serena Dias, students compered the programme.
