Jabalpur, Mar 1: Madhya Pradesh Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang has strongly criticized Congress following remarks by state in-charge Harish Chaudhary on party leaders shifting allegiance to the BJP. Sarang asserted that Congress leaders are defecting because of the BJP’s policies and the declining credibility of their own party.
Speaking to reporters in Jabalpur, Sarang took a sharp dig at Congress, saying, “It’s astonishing that a party whose shops and showrooms have shut down still holds so much arrogance. Instead of questioning those who leave, they should introspect on why their leaders are abandoning the party. Congress lacks vision, leadership, and the intent to serve.”

He further lashed out at Congress leadership, stating, “A party with weak leadership and flawed policies cannot sustain itself. You cannot govern with ‘Mitti ke Madhav’ (a metaphor for ineffective leadership). BJP is in power and welcomes a constructive opposition, but Congress has failed to provide that.”
Advising Harish Chaudhary to analyze the political landscape of Madhya Pradesh, Sarang claimed that leaders are leaving Congress not for positions, but out of ideological alignment with BJP. “People are joining BJP out of their commitment to the nation, not for personal gains. Many BJP members hold no ministerial or legislative positions but remain with the party because they believe in its vision,” he added.
Congress, which suffered major defeats in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, has deployed Chaudhary to Madhya Pradesh to strengthen and revive the party’s structure. Addressing party workers in one of his meetings, Chaudhary recently remarked that those who intended to leave had already done so, and only the "true soldiers" of the party remained.
