Patna, Mar 4: With the Bihar Assembly elections on the horizon, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accelerated its preparations. A crucial State Council meeting is scheduled to take place today at Bapu Auditorium, Patna, where senior leaders and party workers will chalk out strategies for the upcoming polls.
Dilip Jaiswal is all set to take charge as the new Bihar BJP state president. He filed his nomination on Monday in the presence of Election Officer and BJP State General Secretary Rajesh Verma. As no other nominations were submitted, his appointment is certain, and he will formally assume office later today.

Jaiswal’s nomination was backed by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Minister Mangal Pandey, and Legislative Councillor Sanjay Mayukh. His appointment is being seen as a strategic move ahead of the crucial elections.
Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is overseeing the event as chief observer, alongside Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde and co-in-charge Deepak Prakash. Several Bihar ministers, Central government representatives, BJP state office bearers, district presidents, and block-level leaders are also in attendance. Over 6,000 party members, including divisional presidents, state officials, and working committee members, are expected to participate.
The meeting comes just days after the recent cabinet expansion, signaling BJP’s aggressive poll preparations. The focus will be on finalizing the campaign roadmap and strengthening the party’s organizational structure.
Dilip Jaiswal, a seasoned BJP leader and Bihar Legislative Council member, has held key positions within the party. He previously served as the Revenue and Land Reforms Minister in the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Ahead of the cabinet reshuffle, he stepped down from his ministerial post to dedicate himself to party leadership.
With the Delhi elections concluded, BJP has now turned its full attention to Bihar, aiming to consolidate its presence and mobilize its cadre for a decisive electoral battle in 2025.
