Kasargod: Four-member gang arrested for robbing quarry manager of Rs 10.20 lac

Kasargod, March 6: Kasaragod police have successfully arrested four individuals involved in a robbery in which they threatened a quarry manager with a knife and stole Rs 10.20 lac.

The arrested suspects include Muhammad Ibrahim Alam (21), Muhammad Malik (21), and Muhammad Farooq (26), all hailing from Bihar, and Dhananjay (21) from Assam. The arrests were made with the assistance of Karnataka police, with the first three arrested in Mangaluru and Dhananjay in Kanjangad.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday evening when P P Ravindran (56), the manager of Jass Granite Aggregate Private Limited, a company operating in Kanjangad, was approached by the gang while waiting for an auto to go home after work. The gang members threatened him with a knife and fled with a bag containing the cash.

The police were immediately informed about the incident. When the police began their search, they learned that the robbers had boarded a train to escape.

Mangaluru police were alerted, and as the three suspects disembarked at the Mangaluru railway station, they were apprehended. During questioning, it was revealed that Dhananjay was the main accused in the robbery. He was subsequently arrested from Kanjangad.
