Kundapur: Illegal cattle transportation - Car collides with pick-up, three arrested

Kundapur, Mar 8: An illegal cattle transportation incident took a dramatic turn when a car carrying a male calf collided with a pick-up near Guddammadi Cross in the Gangolli police station limits on March 7. Following the accident, the accused abandoned the vehicle in the middle of the road and attempted to flee the scene.

The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Muhammad Abid (18), Muhammad Aban (19), and Muhammad Shinan (19). Another accused, identified as Tauheed, managed to escape by swimming across the river.

According to reports, the pick-up vehicle was traveling from Bantwadi to Aloor when the car, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into it. Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the car was being used for the illegal transportation of a male calf. Startled by the accident, the accused abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape by jumping into the Souparnika River.

Acting swiftly, the police, with the help of local residents, managed to apprehend three of the suspects.

A case has been registered at the Gangolli police station, and further investigation is underway.
