Koppal, Mar 10: The 39th state convention of the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) was held on Sunday March 9 at the Siddhartha Institute of Technology auditorium in Koppal. The event was presided over by KUWJ state president Shivananda Tagadur.
The convention witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries including Shivraj S Tangadagi, minister for Kannada, culture, and backward classes welfare and Koppal district in-charge; K V Prabhakar, media advisor to the chief minister; Prof B K Ravi, vice chancellor of Koppal University; and Koppal MLA Raghavendra Hitnal, among others.



During the awards ceremony, Rons Bantwal, president of the Maharashtra unit of KUWJ, was honoured with the KUWJ Achiever Special Award.
The recognition was bestowed upon him for his significant contributions to the fields of media and social service. KUWJ general secretary G C Lokesh highlighted that Bantwal’s exceptional service in these sectors was the reason for this honour.
