Malviya slams Mamata govt over alleged attack on Hindus during Holi in Birbhum

Daijiworld Media Network – Kolkata

Kolkata, Mar 15: BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya has launched a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, accusing it of fostering communal violence, particularly in Birbhum.

Taking to social media platform X, Malviya alleged that Hindus in Anaipur village under Kirnahar police station limits were attacked while celebrating Holi and chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram.’ He claimed that the attack was orchestrated by a local Trinamool Panchayat member, who questioned the revellers, saying, "How dare you raise this slogan?"

Malviya further alleged that police remained passive spectators instead of preventing the violence, even as videos surfaced showing victims claiming they were assaulted.

Questioning the state government’s decision to impose Internet restrictions, Malviya cited the Supreme Court’s ruling in Anuradha Bhasin vs. Union of India, which deemed indefinite Internet shutdowns illegal. He challenged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, asking, "What pressing crisis justified this blackout during ongoing examinations?"

Asserting that the BJP would not allow the state’s social fabric to be torn apart for ‘communal vote bank politics,’ Malviya declared, ‘Mamata Banerjee must GO!’
