Telangana family tragedy: Three killed in Florida road accident

Telangana, Mar 17: In a heartbreaking incident, three members of a family from Telangana lost their lives in a road accident in the United States. The victims, identified as Pragathi Reddy (35), her six-year-old son Harveen, and mother-in-law Sunitha (56), were killed in a collision in Florida on Sunday morning.

The family, originally from Tekulapalli village in Kondurg mandal of Rangareddy district, had been residing in Florida. Pragathi Reddy was married to Rohith Reddy from Siddipet, who was employed in the US. The couple had two sons, and Rohith’s mother, Sunitha, was staying with them.

According to reports received by their relatives, the family was returning home from a weekend trip when their car collided with another vehicle. Tragically, Pragathi Reddy, Harveen, and Sunitha died on the spot, while Rohith Reddy, who was driving, and his younger son survived with minor injuries.

Details about the exact cause of the accident are still unclear. Local authorities in Florida informed the victims’ relatives and friends in the US about the incident.

Pragathi Reddy was the daughter of former MPTC member Mohan Reddy and former sarpanch Pavitra Devi, both associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The news of their daughter's and grandson’s sudden demise has left the family devastated. Tekulapalli village was enveloped in grief as relatives and friends gathered at Mohan Reddy’s residence to offer condolences.

Mohan Reddy and his wife are set to travel to the US for the final rites, which will be conducted in Florida, as per family sources.
Expressing his condolences, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) conveyed his deep sorrow over the loss and extended his wishes for the swift recovery of Rohith Reddy and his younger son.
