Rising heat in Dakshina Kannada amid cloudy skies

Mangaluru, Mar 19: The heat levels in Dakshina Kannada district have begun to rise again. On Tuesday, the region experienced cloudy weather, but the overall temperature remained high.

Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4°C, which was 0.8°C lower than usual, while the minimum temperature stood at 25.6°C, marking an increase of 1.6°C compared to the average. According to the meteorological department, the district is likely to continue experiencing a mix of heat and cloudy conditions.

Over the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Tuesday, scattered rainfall was recorded in parts of the southern interior region. Malemahadeshwara Betta received 2 cm of rain, while HD Kote, Bandipur, Hunsur, and Maddur each recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, the coastal and northern interior regions remained dry. No significant changes were observed in the maximum temperatures across the coastal and southern interior regions, while the minimum temperatures also remained mostly stable.

Kalaburagi recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41.2°C, whereas Vijayapura reported the lowest at 18°C.

    everybody telling Rising heat in Dakshina Kannada every year. but no proper research is made why heat is rising significantly even in rainy season once the rain is stops.
