Udupi, Mar 19: A truck driver lost control over his vehicle and crashed into a car in Kela Parkala on March 19.
The incident occurred when a woman fell off her scooter due to a puncture while travelling on the road near Canara Bank. As the passerby gathered to assist her, an approaching car travelling from Shivamogga towards Manipal was rear-ended by a soil transport truck.


The truck crashed into the car, then veered off the road, tumbling into the ditch. The people who had gathered to help the woman who already met with an accident were thrown off as the truck crashed.
Frequent accidents are seen in the region. The incomplete road construction works on the National Highway 169 A primary cause for the frequent accidents. The unfinished work has created hazardous conditions, making the highway prone to such accidents.
The public have expressed their frustration and dissatisfaction with the ongoing highway work.
