New Delhi, Mar 20: The central government has issued 1,298 blocking orders against online betting and gaming platforms, citing concerns over illegal activities, financial risks, and user safety.

Officials stated that the decision was taken to curb unauthorized gaming operations that violate Indian laws, exploit users, and pose financial threats, particularly to young players. The move aligns with the government's ongoing crackdown on online gambling and fraudulent gaming apps.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) implemented these blocking measures based on recommendations from regulatory bodies, emphasizing the need to safeguard digital users. Authorities have also warned against engaging with unregulated gaming sites, urging citizens to report suspicious platforms.
