Udupi, Mar 27: “There will be no compromise on the development of Hindutva,” said MLA Yashpal Suvarna.

Yashpal Suvarna emphasized that all 224 BJP candidates in the state are strong proponents of Hindutva and that the party’s success is driven by those who work in its favor. He said, “Hindutva is an integral part of the BJP. Some may take an aggressive approach, while others work systematically by engaging party workers. Regardless, we all stand for Hindutva. The BJP operates with discipline and structure, with the party and the country always being larger than the individual. Dedicated workers are essential for building any party.”

Speaking about the controversy surrounding the expulsion of Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Suvarna clarified that there was no confusion in the coastal region regarding the matter. “The central leadership made a decision through the disciplinary committee. There is no ambiguity or confusion regarding the party’s stand. As an MLA, I stand firmly by the party's decision,” he affirmed.

Referring to Yatnal’s controversial statements, Suvarna stated that despite receiving a notice, Yatnal did not respond as per party guidelines. “There is still an opportunity for correction and discussions with central leaders,” he added, acknowledging Yatnal as an experienced leader and former Union Minister.

Suvarna emphasized that senior leaders make decisions after considering both the benefits and consequences. “Yatnal failed to respond properly to the notice issued to him, and as a result, the party made its decision. There is no possibility of reversing it. Only the central leadership has the authority to resolve issues within the party, and everyone must accept the party’s decision. No one should make light remarks about the state president,” he asserted.

Commenting on his suspension from the Vidhana Sabha, Suvarna said, “Speaker U T Khader must reconsider his decision. I am a staunch BJP supporter and will continue to protest against the Muslim Bill. No government can bring religious-based reservations. The state treasury is empty due to the guarantee schemes, and to divert public attention, the government is creating such issues.

“Speaker U T Khader should focus on his own constituency, where thefts, gunfights, and cow slaughter incidents are occurring. Action should be taken against workers of his own party involved in crimes. Such individuals should be expelled, and true leaders should emerge. Keeping such MLAs in power will yield no results. We, the MLAs who uphold principles, will not compromise on development, Hindutva, or the party’s ideology,” he declared.
