Mangaluru, Mar 29: The GEMA International Student Speaker Competition is a prestigious virtual event that brings together talented student speakers from the UAE and India. Welcoming participants from kindergarten to grade 12, the competition provides a platform for young individuals to showcase their communication skills and leadership abilities on a global stage.

This year, two exceptional young speakers from Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru made a remarkable impact with their inspiring speeches. Angela Sarah DAlmeida of grade VI captivated the audience with her speech titled ‘The silent scream: The ravages of deforestation.’ Through her eloquent delivery, Angela highlighted the alarming environmental crisis caused by deforestation, emphasizing the urgent need for conservation and sustainable practices.

Similarly, Suzanne Carol DAlmeida of grade IV delivered a compelling speech titled ‘Recolor the outdoors: Spending time with mother nature'. Her speech encouraged reconnecting with nature, promoting outdoor activities, and appreciating the beauty and serenity of the natural world.

Both young speakers demonstrated outstanding oratory skills and a deep sense of awareness, earning them the title of Prize Winners in their respective categories. Their achievements underscore the significance of youth-led advocacy and the power of young voices in driving meaningful change.
