Dubai, Apr 2: United Pangalites (UPA) successfully organized its annual blood donation drive on March 23, at the DHA Blood Donation Center, Al Jaddaf, Dubai, in association with Dubai Health Authority. This initiative, which has been a longstanding tradition for UPA, saw the enthusiastic participation of approximately 70 donors, reaffirming the commitment to community service and humanitarian causes.
The drive was aimed at supporting hospitals and patients in need of life-saving blood transfusions. Volunteers and donors from various backgrounds came forward to contribute to this noble cause. The event was meticulously planned to ensure a smooth and efficient donation process, with medical professionals from DHA providing their expertise to ensure donor safety and comfort.

As UPA marks its 22nd year of service, it remains steadfast in its dedication to social responsibility and the well-being of the community. The annual blood donation drive is one of many initiatives that reflect UPA’s mission to give back and inspire positive change. The appreciation certificates for the donors, along with snacks and fruits, surely made the event even more memorable for everyone involved.
The event was enriched by the presence of our long-time steadfast supporter and well-wisher, Joseph Mathias, owner of Merit Freight Systems. He commended UPA’s initiative in organizing such meaningful events. The success of this year’s drive was made possible through the unwavering support of UPA members, donors, and DHA staff. Current president of UPA, Sweeny D’Souza and founder president, Michael Castelino, thanked and gave away the appreciation certificate for the donors. UPA sincerely thanks Bala Salian, a dedicated social welfare coordinator at DHA, for his invaluable support in organizing this blood donation drive. The association extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants and looks forward to organizing more such initiatives in the future.
