PM Modi leaves for Thailand to attend BIMSTEC summit

New Delhi, Apr 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed for Thailand to participate in the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Summit, aiming to enhance regional cooperation and economic integration among member countries.

During the summit, leaders from member nations including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand are expected to discuss key issues related to trade, connectivity, security, and sustainable development.

Sources indicate that PM Modi’s visit will focus on strengthening India's ties with Southeast Asian countries and promoting initiatives that foster economic growth and regional stability.

The Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral talks with leaders from other BIMSTEC nations on the sidelines of the summit. This visit is seen as a crucial step in enhancing India’s engagement with its neighboring countries and boosting regional cooperation.
