Washington, Apr 3: US President Donald Trump has advocated for permitting immigrants to work in manufacturing plants being established as a result of tariff policies aimed at boosting domestic production.
Speaking at a recent rally, Trump emphasized that his tariff policies have encouraged companies to set up new plants in the US, thereby creating numerous job opportunities. To meet the rising demand for labour, he suggested allowing immigrants to fill these positions.

“We’re bringing back manufacturing jobs, and as these plants open up, we need workers. We’re going to let immigrants come in and work in these plants,” Trump stated.
He maintained that the move would be mutually beneficial, helping both the American economy and individuals seeking better opportunities. However, Trump clarified that the focus would remain on lawful immigration and ensuring that jobs created benefit the country’s economy.
The remarks have sparked fresh debates on immigration policies, especially amid ongoing discussions about labour shortages in various industries across the United States.
