Jerusalem, Apr 3: In a significant military operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes targeting key Syrian military bases situated in Hama and Damascus. According to reliable sources, the strikes were carried out on Wednesday night, causing considerable damage to strategic installations.
The IDF has remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the operation, but reports indicate that the airstrikes were aimed at disrupting weapons shipments and infrastructure allegedly associated with hostile factions operating from Syrian territory.
Syrian state media confirmed the attacks, claiming that their air defence systems were activated to intercept the missiles. However, the extent of damage and casualties remains unclear.
The strikes come at a time of escalating tensions between Israel and various militant groups, with Israel stating that it will continue to take pre-emptive measures to safeguard its national security.
Meanwhile, international observers have expressed concerns over the rising hostilities in the region, urging restraint and dialogue.
The IDF has conducted numerous similar strikes in the past, primarily aimed at curbing the influence of Iran-backed militias operating within Syria.
