Bhopal, Apr 9: In two disturbing incidents that have sparked outrage across Madhya Pradesh, two individuals have been arrested for allegedly committing unnatural acts with cows. Both cases came to light after videos of the acts went viral on social media, triggering protests and prompting swift police action.
The first incident occurred in Indore, where a man identified as Vijay Ahirwar, a factory labourer, was caught on CCTV after a video of his shameful act surfaced online. Following the video’s circulation, cow protection groups and Hindu organisations staged demonstrations, demanding strict action.

“Upon receiving the footage, our team scanned CCTV footage from nearby buildings, which confirmed the act. The accused was arrested soon after,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Rajesh Dandotia.
Ahirwar has been booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 — a law that criminalizes inflicting pain or suffering on animals. Police are further investigating the matter.
In a separate but similarly shocking case, police in Mandsaur district arrested one Dwarka Goswami (35), who was allegedly caught on video engaging in unnatural conduct with a cow in a cowshed belonging to his uncle. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Afzalpur police station.
“A local resident who witnessed the act filmed it, and the video soon went viral, leading to public anger,” said Afzalpur police station in-charge, Samarth Sinam.
Following his arrest, Goswami was paraded through the local area on Tuesday — a step taken by police reportedly to deter others from committing such acts.
Both incidents have led to widespread condemnation and renewed calls for stricter laws and monitoring to prevent cruelty against animals, especially sacred ones like cows in India.
