Bengaluru, Apr 9: The 2025 Equestrian season galloped off to a spectacular start with Mumbai’s Amateur Riders’ Club (ARC) star, Yashaan Khambatta, delivering a stellar performance at the Surge Equestrian League, held from April 4 to 6 at Surge Stables, Bengaluru. Over the course of three competitive days, Yashaan clinched five medals a gold, two silver, and two bronze marking an impressive beginning to the season.

The league, known for its international-standard arena and elite rider participation from clubs across the country, witnessed Yashaan dominate in the Show Jumping category, riding his trusted horses Lord Stakkolensky and Dolce Vita.

The action began with a bang on day 1 as Yashaan, riding Lord Stakkolensky, claimed gold in the 1.25m Show Jumping (Big Tour). Surya Aditya (Calimero 673) and Jaiveer Varma (Looney on Top) followed with silver and bronze, respectively.

Day 2 saw the ARC rider secure a bronze, while Affan Ahmed (Lucifer Van De Hamel) and Samarth Sreeharsha (Volbeat) won gold and silver. Later that day, Yashaan added another bronze in the 1.30m Show Jumping, as Sresht Mantena (Apollo) and Jaiveer Varma took the top two spots.

Continuing his medal-winning streak on day 3, Yashaan earned a silver in the Medium Tour, riding Dolce Vita, with Thanush Gowda (Milan) taking gold and Sresht Mantena (Dancing Queen) settling for bronze. In the final Big Tour event, it was Jaiveer Varma who clinched gold, while Yashaan, once again on Lord Stakkolensky, secured silver, and Surya Aditya took bronze.

Speaking after his successful campaign, a visibly elated Yashaan Khambatta said, “It was a lovely start to the 2025 season and the first leg of the league. It was a beautifully hosted show with one of the best international facilities in the country.”

“Both my horses, Lord Stakkolensky and Dolce Vita, jumped phenomenally. We had great results, and I hope for even better ones in the upcoming legs. I’d really like to thank ARC and the committee for all their support. Having such a world-class facility back home plays a big part in this victory,” he added.

ARC, in a press release, highlighted that Yashaan’s achievements reflect the club’s commitment to nurturing national-level talent and equipping its riders with world-class infrastructure and training to excel in both domestic and international arenas.
