New Delhi, Apr 22: What began as a scenic breakfast ride for a group of eleven bikers turned into a nightmare on Gurugram’s Dwarka Expressway, when they were allegedly assaulted by a group of inebriated men wielding iron bats and knives.
Hardik Sharma, one of the bikers and a survivor of the shocking incident, narrated his harrowing experience to NDTV. "They hit me with an iron bat. I only survived because of my helmet. They threatened to shoot me if I dared to record them," Sharma said, recounting the brutal attack that left him injured and his luxury bike damaged.

The group, en route to Panchgaon from Ambience Mall, was forced to stop after a black Scorpio began dangerously swerving near their motorcycles. What followed was chaos, as the occupants of the SUV—reportedly drunk and carrying glasses in hand—stepped out and began assaulting the bikers unprovoked.
"In a split second, they began beating one of us. When we tried to intervene, they started vandalising our bikes. Some friends fled to save their bikes, which cost between Rs 10 lac to Rs25 lac," Sharma added. However, in a heroic move, Sharma returned on foot to help a friend who had been left behind, only to find himself cornered and assaulted again.
Despite sustaining injuries, Sharma was determined to get justice. However, registering an FIR proved to be another ordeal. "It took 12 hours and visits to multiple police stations before the complaint was finally accepted," he said.
In a remarkable turn of events, Sharma took matters into his own hands and used Artificial Intelligence tools to trace the attackers. "We uploaded their images to some paid AI software, which led us to their public Instagram profiles. We also identified the gym where they work out and handed all this information to the police," he revealed.
Despite providing the leads, Sharma expressed disappointment over the lack of arrests. "I don't know why they attacked us. They didn’t even speak, just started hitting. My bike, worth ?11 lakh, is severely damaged. Accessories alone cost Rs 3–4 lac," he said, calling for compensation and swift police action.
Police have acknowledged that the accused have been identified through CCTV footage, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
