Jaipur, Apr 22: US Vice-President JD Vance and his family visited the historic Amber Fort in Jaipur on Tuesday morning, immersing themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The family, accompanied by Vance’s Indian-origin wife, Usha Chilukuri, and their three children – Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel – arrived at the fort at around 9:30 am after departing from the luxurious Rambagh Palace Hotel, with tight security in place.

As they entered the main courtyard, Jaleb Chowk, they were warmly greeted by two decorated female elephants, Chanda and Mala, who raised their trunks in a traditional welcome. The Vance family was then treated to a vibrant cultural performance, which included folk dances such as Kacchi Ghodi, Ghoomar, and Kalbeliya, showcasing the unique cultural heritage of Rajasthan.

In a heartwarming moment, Vice-President Vance walked the red carpet holding hands with his sons Ewan and Vivek, while Usha Vance carried their daughter Mirabel. The family seemed captivated by the stunning architecture and grandeur of the Amber Fort Palace.

To ensure the safety and privacy of the visiting dignitaries, the Amber Fort Palace was closed to the public from 12 pm on Monday for preparations. Traffic around the fort was also rerouted to accommodate the VIP movement from Rambagh Palace to Amber Fort.
