Patna, Apr 24: In his first public remarks since the Pahalgam terror strike, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a defiant message to the perpetrators: India will hunt them “to the ends of the Earth,” and terrorism will never go unanswered. Addressing a vast crowd in Madhubani, Bihar, on National?Panchayati?Raj Day, the Prime Minister condemned the “cowardly” assault that claimed 26 civilian lives—mostly tourists—and led the nation in two minutes of silence for the fallen.

“From the soil of Bihar, I tell the world: we will identify, trace, and punish every terrorist and their backers,” Mr.?Modi declared, invoking India’s unbreakable spirit. “Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to ensure justice. The nation stands united; everyone who values humanity stands with us.”

Describing the attack as an assault on “India’s very soul,” the Prime Minister voiced the shared grief of a diverse nation: “Some victims spoke Bangla, some Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, or Bihari. From Kargil to Kanyakumari, we mourn together.” He vowed that both the foot soldiers and architects of the massacre would face retribution “far greater than they can imagine.”

Mr.?Modi also expressed gratitude to international partners who rallied behind India in the attack’s aftermath. He highlighted India’s robust strategic and diplomatic countermeasures: suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, expelling Pakistani military attaches, closing the Attari–Wagah crossing, and cancelling the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals.

“India’s resolve against terror is ironclad,” the Prime Minister affirmed, underscoring that the nation’s unity and commitment to justice will remain unwavering in the face of barbarism.
