New Delhi, Apr 24: An all party meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened on Thursday to discuss the April?22 terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which killed more than 20 unarmed civilians, mostly tourists. Before deliberations began, attendees observed two minutes of silence in tribute to the victims.

Emerging from the two hour session, Union Minister Kiren?Rijiju described the discussions as “very positive,” noting that every party present endorsed the central government’s firm stance against Pakistan and reaffirmed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s zero tolerance policy on terrorism.

Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul?Gandhi pledged his party’s full support for any actions the government decides to take. Congress President Mallikarjun?Kharge emphasized the need for tangible measures to preserve peace in Jammu & Kashmir, calling for cross party collaboration to prevent future attacks.

Samajwadi Party’s Ram?Gopal?Yadav urged the media and social platforms to avoid creating divisions when the nation stands united. AIMIM leader Asaduddin?Owaisi pointed out that Pakistan’s longstanding violation of UN Security Council resolutions against funding terrorism underscores why strict countermeasures are essential.

By presenting a united front, both government and opposition leaders sent a clear signal: India stands together against terrorism.
