Udupi, Jan 20: Annual ‘Ziyarat’ celebrations were held at Sayyed Arabi Valiyullahi Darga located at Kaikunjalu, near Kaup, on Wednesday January 18 with solemnity and fervour.

Sayyed Arabi Valiyullalhi had lived a saintly-life at Kaikunjalu sea shore on Arabian Sea here and was known for his miraculous deeds.

People of different faiths and religions besides Muslims thronged the ‘Darga’, a pilgrimage centre that is governed by Kaup–Polipu Masjid committee, in order to offer prayers.

It has been an age old custom to offer a sweet dish to all the visitors at Sayyed Arabi Valiyullahi Darga on the occasion. Over 20,000 people, including a large number of Muslim women, visited the Darga, a highlight of Ziyarat celebrations this year.
