Operation Sindoor: Ceasefire shattered as Pakistan deploys drones, blackout imposed in border zones

New Delhi, May 10: Barely hours after agreeing to a ceasefire pact, Pakistan has once again violated the terms, triggering fresh tensions along the India-Pakistan border. According to defence sources, Pakistan launched multiple drones into Indian territory late Friday night, escalating fears of a renewed conflict.

Loud explosions were reported across Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, prompting security forces to go on high alert. The situation remains tense in the region, with continuous surveillance operations underway.

Under the umbrella of ‘Operation Sindoor’, Indian defence forces have responded swiftly by enforcing complete blackouts in vulnerable regions, including Punjab’s Ferozepur and Rajasthan’s Barmer. Udhampur, a key military region in Jammu, has also reported blackout measures amid drone sightings.

Residents in the affected regions reported sudden power cuts late in the evening. Emergency protocols have been activated, and air defence units are closely monitoring all aerial movements.

The Indian Army and Border Security Forces are currently scanning radar feeds to track and neutralize potential threats. Defence officials have confirmed that drone detection and interception systems are fully active across strategic zones.

This breach comes as a shock following recent diplomatic engagements aimed at reducing hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. However, with drone incursions and cross-border provocation reigniting tensions, peace in the region now hangs by a thread.
