Puttur, May 11: In a tragic road mishap, a government bus and a two-wheeler collided at Kabaka on Sunday, May 11, leading to the death of the bike rider and the pillion rider.

The accident occurred near Kabaka-Kuvettila on the Puttur-Mangaluru National Highway when a government-run bus collided head-on with a bike. The deceased has been identified as Arun Kulal, 45, a member of the Narikombu Grama Panchayat, while his son Dhyan, 15, sustained critical injuries. Later, Dhyan succumbed to injuries.

According to reports, the bus was heading towards Puttur from Mangaluru, while the bike was travelling from Mani side when the collision took place. The impact of the crash left both riders seriously injured.

Though both victims were rushed to the hospital immediately, Arun Kulal is said to have breathed his last en route.

Police personnel from the Puttur Traffic police station visited the spot and have begun an investigation into the incident.
