Adampur, May 14: In a powerful address to the armed forces at the Indian Air Force’s Adampur border base on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a strong message to both adversaries and the world: while New India seeks peace, it will not hesitate to annihilate those who threaten its sovereignty.
The Prime Minister, flanked by the imposing backdrop of Russian-made S-400 missile systems, praised the armed forces and BSF personnel for their decisive role in Operation Sindoor, describing it as “unprecedented, unimaginable and majestic.” The operation reportedly struck deep inside Pakistani territory, eliminating over 100 terrorists across nine identified hubs.

Referring to the operation as a benchmark for India’s new doctrine on terrorism, Modi stated, “New Bharat does not provoke, but if provoked, it responds with force. We will answer on our terms, at our time. There will be no tolerance for nuclear blackmail.”
The PM warned that the days of ambiguous red lines were over, adding that India’s “Lakshman Rekha” against terrorism is now firmly defined. He asserted that no distinction would be made between governments that harbor terrorists and the terrorists themselves.
Drawing on Indian philosophical and spiritual traditions, Modi invoked both Lord Buddha and Guru Gobind Singh to stress that wielding arms in the defense of dharma is part of India’s cultural ethos. Quoting the Tenth Sikh Guru — “Sava lakh se ek ladaun, chiryan teh main baaj tadaun…” — the PM declared that India had responded to the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident by crushing the enemy in his den.
In a pointed message to Pakistan, Modi revealed that Indian forces had only paused further action after Islamabad “pleaded,” but urged soldiers to remain ever-vigilant. “Be forever ready to remind the adversary that this is new Bharat,” he said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the military's growing synergy, noting the seamless coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force during Operation Sindoor. He lauded the “speed, precision, and joint-ness” displayed in the face of Pakistan’s alleged use of civilian air traffic as cover.
Turning attention to India’s defence capabilities, Modi asserted that Pakistan could no longer match the advanced technologies that India now commands. “Our drones and missiles have ensured that there is no safe haven for terrorists in Pakistan. We will strike at the heart — and ensure there’s no chance to escape,” he said, amid chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ from the troops.
Asserting that India’s security infrastructure is now backed by years of investment and strategic reforms, the PM reaffirmed his government’s resolve toward a self-reliant and technologically superior defence framework.
The Prime Minister concluded his address with a salute to the bravery of Punjab, describing it as “the land of the fearless,” and reiterated that while this is not the age of war or terrorism, India will never hesitate to defend humanity with full force.
