Mangaluru, May 20: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have taken into custody the prime accused in a job fraud case involving overseas employment promises.
According to a press release from Mangaluru city police, the accused had allegedly collected Rs 1.65 lakh from a complainant by promising a job abroad. Further investigations revealed that the accused had cheated several youth in a similar manner, amassing a total of around Rs 1.82 crore by luring them with overseas job offers.

The accused has been identified as Masiwulla Ativulla Khan (36), son of Ativulla Khan, a resident of Mumbai. He has been taken into police custody for further investigation.
An earlier case had also been registered against him at the Mangaluru East police station in December 2024, based on a complaint filed by immigration officials. He was accused of operating a company offering jobs abroad without proper authorisation.
Both cases are now being investigated by the CCB unit, following a transfer of responsibility from the Mangaluru East police station.
