Dhule, May 25: In a shocking incident from Wathode village in the Thalner area of Maharashtra’s Dhule district, a 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his mother after she failed to wake up and cook a fresh meal for him, police said on Sunday.

The incident took place late on May 24, when the victim, Tipabai Pawara (65), had prepared a fish curry for her son Awlesh and gone to sleep in their modest shanty. However, a stray dog, lured by the aroma, entered the house and ruined the meal, police officials said.

When Awlesh returned home intoxicated later that night and found the food spoiled, he allegedly woke his mother and demanded she prepare another meal. When she didn’t respond, he flew into a rage and struck her on the head with a wooden stick, police stated.

The next morning, Awlesh discovered his mother lying motionless and alerted relatives. They rushed to the scene and found Tipabai dead, with a severe head injury.

Police were called to the spot and took Awlesh into custody. A case of murder has been registered at Thalner police station, and further investigation is underway.
