Malabar Group allocates Rs 150 crore to scale up CSR initiatives for 2025-26

Bengaluru, May 28: Malabar Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates and the parent company of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, has allocated Rs 150 crore for the year 2025-26 to scale up its CSR initiatives. These will focus on healthcare, education, hunger and poverty alleviation, women empowerment, environment protection, and housing for the underprivileged.

As part of its flagship CSR initiative Hunger Free World, the group has pledged to distribute 70,000 meals daily in India and Zambia, amounting to 2.5 crore meals in 2025-26. This marks a significant increase from the 2.5 crore meals already distributed over the past three years since the programme’s launch.

The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger, and Malabar Group has dedicated 60 percent of its annual CSR budget to projects targeting the eradication of hunger and poverty.

In Karnataka alone, the group is currently distributing around 7,425 meals daily across 19 locations, including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Belagavi, Udupi, Davangere, Vijayapura, Ballari, Shivamogga, Hassan, Dharwad, Bidar, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Raichur, Tumakuru, and Kolar.

The next phase of the group’s CSR initiatives was launched at an event held at Malabar Gold & Diamonds, MG Road showroom in Bengaluru on May 28, coinciding with World Hunger Day. Smt Snehal R, IAS, zonal commissioner – east zone, inaugurated the programme. Other dignitaries present included Filsor Babu, regional head – Karnataka, Mansoor Alam, zonal head, members of the management team, customers, and well-wishers.
