Thammasat Stadium, Jun 4: The Indian men’s football team suffered a 0-2 defeat against a sharp Thailand side in a FIFA International Friendly, a setback ahead of their AFC Asian Qualifiers 2027 clash against Hong Kong.

Thailand took an early lead through Benjamin Davis (8’), who scored with a powerful shot after a well-crafted move. Poramet Arjvilai doubled the lead in the 59th minute with a stunning curled strike, leaving India struggling to respond.

India showed resilience, with Liston Colaco and Sunil Chhetri creating chances, including a near-header goal saved by Thailand’s keeper Saranon Anuin. However, missed opportunities and defensive errors cost them dearly.

Despite late efforts by substitute Lallianzuala Chhangte and solid defending by Anwar Ali, India couldn’t find a way back, ending the match on a disappointing note.
