Karkala, Jun 6: Sri Bhuvanendra Residential School (SBRS), Karkala, will mark a significant milestone as it celebrates its Silver Jubilee with a grand inaugural ceremony on June 7 at 10:30 am at S R Hall, SBC Campus.
The event will be inaugurated by Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal. The inaugural ceremony will be graced and blessed by Swami Jithakamanandaji, president of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mangaluru.




Several dignitaries will be present on the dais, including administrative officer, AGE Manipal Dr K Sreedhara R Pai, trustee of Sri Bhuvanendra College Trust Anand G Pai, president of the alumni association advocate M K Vipultej and president of the Sri Bhuvanendra College governing council CA Shivananda Pai B, who will preside over the function.
As part of the jubilee celebrations, a total of 25 events are scheduled to take place throughout the year. One major event among them is ‘Marathon-2025 – Run for Green’, which will be held on June 8.
Dr Manjunath A Kotian, secretary of Sri Bhuvanendra College Trust, reflected on the visionary legacy of the founder, Dr TMA Pai, stating that his foresight was a lasting gift to society. “The institution, established in 1960, has provided significant contributions to the field of education over the past 65 years. Dr TMA Pai had deeply considered three major social challenges, illiteracy, ill health, and poverty and took meaningful steps to address them. He founded educational institutions, which today have attained global recognition. In the healthcare sector, he set up medical centres, and to combat poverty, he initiated banking facilities,” he said.
Speaking about Sri Bhuvanendra Residential School (SBRS), Dr Manjunath Kotian mentioned that it was originally established in 1960 and later expanded with the founding of a sister concern in 2001. Over the past 25 years, SBRS has stayed true to the vision of Dr Ramdas Pai by giving equal importance to both academics and extracurricular activities. “One of the most notable achievements is that the school has recorded 100% results in over 21 academic years,” he noted with pride.
He took the opportunity to express gratitude to several key individuals who played a vital role in the school’s journey, including Narasimha Prabhu, S R Acharya, Arun Puranik, Venkatesh Prabhu, and CA Shivananda Pai.
Dr Manjunath Kotian added that the silver jubilee celebrations of SBRS are being held under the guidance of Dr Ranjan R Pai, and extended a warm invitation to all alumni, parents, and students to join the celebrations. “SBRS has consistently provided quality education over the last 25 years,” he said.
