Brahmavar, Feb 11: A major road accident occurred on National Highway 66 near the Kota bus stand in Brahmavar taluk on the evening of Tuesday, February 10, after the tyre of an SUV burst, causing the driver to lose control.

The SUV was carrying a group of 13 youths from Bidar who were on a trip. After visiting Davanagere and Murudeshwar, they were travelling towards the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha when the mishap occurred.



According to sources, the tyre of the SUV suddenly burst near the Kota bus stand, leading to a loss of control. The vehicle crossed the median, rammed into two oncoming cars, and toppled over one of them.
As a result of the collision, the SUV and the two cars were severely damaged. However, no fatalities were reported in the incident. All passengers escaped without serious injuries.
Kota police rushed to the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case.
The incident has raised concerns among the public, as it occurred soon after another major accident near Tekkatte on NH-66. On Monday, a Fortuner car carrying students from Udupi to Maharashtra had jumped the divider and fallen into a roadside drain, leaving six students seriously injured.
