Mangaluru, Jun 16: Expert Pre-University College Valachil hosted a transformative workshop titled ‘From disabilities to different abilities… Dealing with a difference,’ conducted by Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal and renowned psychologist. The workshop aimed to equip faculty members with the skills and knowledge necessary to support students with diverse needs.
Dr Vijayan shared insightful thoughts on psychological disabilities/ disorders, problems, and behavioral issues commonly observed in students.
He emphasized the importance of adopting an unconditional positive regard and to support students with special needs, promoting inclusive education. Instead of identifying, labeling and neglecting, providing empathetic support is the moral and legal duty of all teachers. he said.
