‘Panchayat’ fame Sanvikaa shares cryptic post on industry struggles

Mumbai, Jun 20: Actress Sanvikaa, widely recognised for her portrayal of Rinki in the hit web series Panchayat, has stirred conversations with a heartfelt and cryptic message on social media, hinting at the difficulties of being an outsider in the entertainment industry.

In an Instagram story posted recently, the actress wrote, “Sometimes I wish I was an insider or maybe from a very powerful background, things would have been so much easier (maybe, I don't know). As basic as getting respect and being treated as an equal. The battles would have been lesser. Hanging on…”

Although she did not specify the incident that prompted the post, her words resonated with many fans and peers, reflecting the ongoing debate about nepotism and unequal opportunities in showbiz.

Sanvikaa, whose real name is Pooja Singh, hails from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, and transitioned from engineering to acting. She moved to Mumbai on the pretext of a job in Bengaluru, initially working as a costume assistant before finding her breakthrough role as Rinki in Panchayat 2 (2022). Her character soon won the hearts of viewers, earning her the tag of 'national crush'.

Now gearing up for the premiere of Panchayat Season 4 on June 24, Sanvikaa will once again share screen space with Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, and others. The latest season promises political drama in Phulera, with a hilarious showdown between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi.

Apart from Panchayat, Sanvikaa has also acted in Lakhan Leela Bhargava and Hajamat, slowly carving a niche for herself despite the odds.

Her recent post has reignited discussions around the challenges faced by self-made artists in the competitive world of entertainment.
