Mangaluru, Jun 27: Mount Carmel Central School embarked on a delightful journey of discovery for its LKG kids through hands-on activities designed to spark creativity, build foundational skills, and make learning joyful.
Children of LKG A enthusiastically participated in a vibrant colouring activity that nurtured their creativity and fine motor development. Engaging tasks like sorting coloured rubber bands, matching shades, and stacking candy sticks provided opportunities for hands-on learning. The highlight was crayon colouring, which encouraged hand control and imaginative expression.

Young learners of LKG B explored foundational writing strokes - standing, sleeping, slanting, and zigzag through engaging, tactile methods such as finger tracing, rawa textures, marker illusions, and even balancing on a bar walk. These fun activities supported early writing readiness and improved coordination in a playful and supportive environment.
Students of LKG C delved into pre-number concepts including big/small, more/less, one/many, full/empty, and long/short. Through interactive sorting and comparison activities, they developed an intuitive understanding of size and quantity. Observing nature such as the size of trees, helped them relate these concepts to the real world. Worksheets reinforced their learning, transforming into tools of reflection and confidence-building.
These early learning adventures laid a strong foundation for cognitive, motor, and social development, making the classroom a space of wonder and joyful exploration.
